Thy love with us continually that others seeing our lives may be influenced to follow Thee.

Send Thy Holy Spirit upon Thy Church at this time. Baptize Thy ministry afresh with Thy Spirit that many may be brought into the kingdom, for the honor of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

SIXTH FRIDAY IN LENT

MORNING LESSON-JOHN 12: 20-50

31. Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.

32. And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all

men unto me.

33. This he said, signifying what death he should die.

34. The people answered him, We have heard out of the law that Christ abideth for ever: and how sayest thou, The Son of man must be lifted up? who is this Son of man?

35. Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth.

36. While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light. These things spake Jesus, and departed, and did hide himself from them.

37. But though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on him:

38. That the saying of Esaias the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spake, Lord, who hath believed our report? and to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed?

39. Therefore they could not believe, because that Esaias said again,

40. He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.

41. These things said Esaias, when he saw his glory, and spake of him.

42. Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue:

43. For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.

EVENING LESSON-ISA. 66: 1-9

PRAYER FOR SIXTH FRIDAY IN LENT Father in heaven, to Thee we come in the morning. Each morning bring us new blessings. We laid us down and slept, we awoke because Thou didst keep

us. We are permitted to go out into the day's duties, because Thy love never fails, and Thy goodness is manifest unto us continually. We thank Thee for all Thy blessings, and for Thy love. Help us to serve Thee better, to keep all Thy commandments, and to walk in the way of righteousness, which is the way of peace. Teach us anew that the way of transgressors is hard, and help us to avoid it.

Send a blessing upon all Thy people this day. May this Lenten season be one of reviving for Thy Church. May Thy people be quickened in their divine life. Oh, baptize us anew with Thy Holy Spirit. May there be large ingatherings into Thy fold on earth, of such as shall be saved. Make us more devoted to Thee and Thy cause, we ask in Jesus' name. Amen.

SIXTH SATURDAY IN LENT

MORNING LESSON-JOHN 13:16-38

16. Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.

17. If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.

18. I speak not of you all: I know whom I have chosen : but that the Scripture may be fulfilled, He that eateth bread with me hath lifted up his heel against me.

19. Now I tell you before it come, that, when it is come to pass, ye may believe that I am he.

20. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth me; and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.

21. When Jesus had thus said, he was troubled in spirit, and testified, and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me.

22. Then the disciples looked one on another, doubting of whom he spake.

23. Now there was leaning on Jesus' bosom one of his disciples, whom Jesus loved.

24. Simon Peter therefore beckoned to him, that he should ask who it should be of whom he spake.

25. He then lying on Jesus' breast saith unto him, Lord, who is it?

26. Jesus answered, He it is, to whom I shall give a sop, when I have dipped it. And when he had dipped the sop, he gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon.

27. And after the sop Satan entered into him. Then said Jesus unto him, That thou doest, do quickly.

EVENING LESSON-ZECH. 9:1-17

PRAYER FOR SIXTH SATURDAY IN LENT Merciful and gracious God, our Father, hear our prayer as we come to Thee in the morning. Bow down Thine ear and hear Thy servants, for we are poor and needy. Strengthen our faith that it may triumph over all obstacles. Make us strong in the Lord. Teach us through Thy Word, "Thy Word is truth."

We do thank Thee for the morning mercies, for the peace and quietness of our home; for daily blessings. We can say with Thy servant David, "Thou daily loadeth us with benefits." Make us thankful and worthy. Guide us this day in plain paths, because of our enemies. Help us to keep under our bodies. May no unholy passion overcome us. Keep us, dear Lord, from our own undoing.

Bless our home this day, and all the homes of Thy people. May they be godly homes where the children may learn Thy truth in early childhood, and grow up to be godly men and women.

Hear us in behalf of all men. May the knowledge of the Lord speedily cover the earth and all turn unto Thee for salvation, through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

PALM SUNDAY

MORNING LESSON-JOHN 12:1-19

1. Then Jesus six days before the passover came to Bethany, where Lazarus was which had been dead, whom he raised from the dead.

2. There they made him a supper; and Martha served; but Lazarus was one of them that sat at the table with him.

3. Then took Mary a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment.

4. Then saith one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, which should betray him,

5. Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence, and given to the poor?

6. This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bare what was put therein.

7. Then said Jesus, Let her alone; against the day of my burying hath she kept this.

3 For the poor always ye have with you; but me ye have not always.

a Much people of the Jews therefore knew that he was there. and they came not for Jesus' sake only, but that they might see Lazarus also, whom he had raised from the dead. la But the chief priests consulted that they might put Lazarus also to death;

11. Because that by reason of him many of the Jews went away, and believed on Jesus.

12. On the next day much people that were come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,

Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet Mai, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord.

14. And Jesus, when he had found a young ass, sat thereon; as it is written,

Fear not, daughter of Sion: behold, thy King cometh, sitting on ass's colt.

cha es which betrayed him, knew the place : Chulaça -vavrted thither with his disciples.

3. Judas then, having received a band of men and officers from the chief priests and Pharisees, cometh thither with lanterns and torches and weapons.

4 Jesus therefore, knowing all things that should come upon him, went forth, and said unto them, Whom seek ye? 5. They answered him, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus saith unto them, I am he. And Judas also, which betrayed him, stood with them.

6. As soon then as he had said unto them, I am he, they went_backward, and fell to the ground.

7. Then asked he them again, Whom seek ye? And they said, Jesus of Nazareth.

8. Jesus answered, I have told you that I am he: if therefore ye seek me, let these go their way:

9. That the saying might be fulfilled, which he spake, Of them which thou gavest me have I lost none.

10. Then Simon Peter having a sword drew it, and smote the high priest's servant, and cut off his right ear. The servant's name was Malchus.

II. Then said Jesus unto Peter, Put up thy sword into the sheath the cup which my Father hath given me, shall I not drink it?

12. Then the band and the captain and officers of the Jews took Jesus, and bound him,

13. And led him away to Annas first; for he was father in law to Caiaphas, which was the high priest that same year. 14. Now Caiaphas was he, which gave counsel to the Jews, that it was expedient that one man should die for the people.

EVENING LESSON-Jer. 7:1-15

PRAYER FOR MONDAY IN HOLY WEEK

Merciful and gracious God, our Father, we devoutly thank Thee for the lesson of the morning, that Jesus Christ hesitated not when trial came, but that He bravely met all the scorn, and misrepresentation, and arrest, and mock trial, that He might bring salvation to us. We thank Thee for that blessed example. We, too, are tried, but never like Thee. We have our discouragements, but none like Thine. Thou wast in all points tempted like as we are, and didst resist unto blood. May we, too, resist, striving against sin. Thou wilt not suffer us to be overborn by temptation. Help us to trust Thee implicitly.

Send Thy blessing this day on all Thy people. Make Thy servants considerate and helpful, to those
