Political Censorship

Couverture
Robert Justin Goldstein
Taylor & Francis, 2001 - 564 pages
Goldstein (political science, Oakland U.) gathers together numerous articles published in The New York Times during the 20th century which deal with the efforts of states to censor information. The articles are presented in roughly chronological order, with subdivisions relating articles to each other thematically and geographically. Goldstein assumes that the articles speak for themselves, but a little contextualization may have been helpful, especially a discussion of the biases of the Times itself in publishing criticisms of some state censorship while minimizing the actions of other states. c.
