38 And if he shall come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants.

39 And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through.

40 Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not.

41 Then Peter said unto him, Lord, speakest thou this parable unto us, or even to all?

42 And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season?

43 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.

44 Of a truth I say unto you, that he will make him ruler over all that he hath.

45 But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken;

46 The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.

47 And that servant, which new his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.

48 But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed muchi, of him they will ask the more.

கூஅ அவன ரணடாஞ்சாமத்திலாவது மூன்றாஞ்சாம் த்திலாவது வந்து அப்படியே கண்டால் அவ்வூழியக்காரர் பாக்கியவானகளாயிருப்பார்கள்.

கூகூ திருடன் இன்னவினனநேரத்தில்வருவானென்று வீ ட்டெசமான அறிந்தால் அவன் விழித்திருந்து தன் வீட் டைக்கன்னமிடும்படிக்கு இடங்கொ க்கமாட்டான். அது உங்களுக்குத்தெரியும்.

சுய அந்தப்படியே நீங்களும் நினையாத நேரத்திலே மனி னுடையகுமாரனவருவதால் எத்தனமாயிருக்கக்கடவீர்க

ளன றார்.

சுக அப்பொழுது பேதுரு அவரை நோக்கி ஆண்டவரே ந்த உவமையை நீர் எங்களுக்கு (மாத்திரஞ் க) சொல்லு கிறீரோ எல்லாருக்குஞ்சொல்லுகிறீரோவென்றான்.

சஉ அதற்குக் கருத்தர்சொன்னது, தகுதியானகாலத்தி லேபடி கொடுக்கும்படிக்கு எசமான ன னுடைய பணிவி டைச்சனங்கள்மேல்வைக்கத்தக்க உண்மையும் புத்தியுமுள

ளவிசாரணைக்காரணயாவன்.

சங எசமானவரும்பொழுது அப்படிச்செய்யக்காணப படுகிற ஊழியக்காரன் பாக்கியவான்.

சச எசமான தனக்குண்டான எல்லாவற்றின்மேலும் வனைவைப்பானென்று மெய்யாய் உங்களுக்குச்சொல்லு

றன்.

சுரு அந்த ஊழியக்காரன் எனனெசமானவரத்தாமதி க்கிறானெறு தன்னிருதயத்திலெண்ணி வேலைக்காரரையும் வேலைக்காரிகளையும் அடிக்கவும் பொசித்துக்குடித்துவெறி கொள்ளவுந் தொடங்கினால்,

சக அந்த ஊழியக்காரன் நினையாத நாளிலும் அறியா தநேரத்திலும் அவனுடைய எசமானவந்து அவனைத் ண்டித்துப்போட்டு உண்மையில்லாதவர்களுடனே யவ க்குள்ள பங்கையேற்படுத்துவான்.

சஎ மிகுதியைப்பெற்றவனெவனோ அவனிடத்தில் மிக வும் விசாரிக்கப்படும். மிகுதியைப் பற்றிக்கொண்டவனிட த்தில் அதிகங்கேட்கப்படும்.

சஅ ஆதலால் தன் எசமானுடைய சித்தத்தையறிந்து ம், எத்தனமாயிராமலும் அவனுடையசித்தத்தினபடிசெய யாமலுமிருக்கிற ஊழியக்காரன் அநேக அடிக் ளைப்பெற றுக்கொள்வான். (சித்தத்தை) யறியாதவனாயிருந்து அடிக் க்கேற்றவைகளைச்செய்கிறவன் கொஞ்ச அடிகளைப்பெற

49 I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled.

50 But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished!

51 Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division:

52 For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three.

53 The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law angainst her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

54 And he said also to the people, When ye see a cloud rise out of the west, straightway ye say, There cometh a shower; and so it is.

55 And when ye see the south wind blow, ye say, There will be heat; and it cometh to pass.

56 Ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky and of the earth; but how is it that ye do not discern this time?

57 Yea, and why even of yourselves judge ye not what is right?

58 When thou goest with thine adversary to the magistrate, as thou art in the way, give diligence that thou mayest be delivered from him; lest he hale thee to the Judge, and the Judge deliver thee to the officer, and the officer cast thee into prison.

59 I tell thee, thou shalt not depart thence, till thou hast paid the very last mite.

ருக நான் பூமிக்குச் சமாதானத்தைத் தரும்படிக்கேவந் தேனென்றா நினைக்கிறீர்கள். அதையல்லப் பிரிவினையைத் தரும்படிக்கு வந்தேனென் றுங்களுக்குச்சொல்லுகிறேன். ருஉ எப்படியெனில், இதுமுதற ஒரேகுடும்பத்திலேஐந் துபேர்பிரிந்திருப்பார்கள்,மூன்றுபேர் இரண்டுபேருக்கும்

ரண்டுபேர் மூனறுபேருக்குமவிரோதமாயிருப்பார்கள். ருங தகப்பன் மகனுக்கும் மகன தகப்ப க்குந் தாய் மகளுக்கும் மகள் தாய்க்கும் மாமி தனமருமகளுக்கும் மரு மகள் தன மாமிக்கும் விரோதமாகப்பிரித்துபோவார்களே ன்றார்.

ரு சா பின்பு அவர் சனங்களுடனேசொன்னது, நீங்கள் ஒருமேகம மேற்கிலேயெழும்புகறதைக் காண்கிறவுடனே பெருமழைவருமென்று சொல்லுகிறீர்கள். அந்தப்படியேயு

மாகும்.

ருரு அல்லாமலுந் தென்றல் அடிக்கிறதை நீங்களகாண் கிறபொழுது, கங்கையுண்டாகுமென்கிறீர்கள். அந்தப் படியேயுமாகும்.

ருசா ஆ, வஞ்சகரே! பூமியினுருவத்தையுமவானத்தினு ருவத்தையும்வகையறுக்க அறிந்திருக்கிறீர்கள். இக்காலத் தைமாத்திரம் நீங்கள் வகையறாமலிருக்கிறதெப்படி

ருஎ அல்லாமலும நியாயமின்னதென்று நீங்கள் உங

னாலேயெண்ணிக்கொள்ளாமலிருக்கிறதென்ன?

ருஅ நீ உன் எதிராளியுடனேகூடத் துரையினிடத்திற் குப்போகிறபொழுது, அவனைவிட்டு நீங்கும்படிக்கு வழியி லேபிரயாசப்படுவாயாக. இல்லாவிட்டால், அவன் உன்னை நியாயாதிபதிக்கு முன்பாகக் கொண்டுபோவதுமல்லாமல், நியாயாதிபதியுன்னைச் சேவகனுக்கு ஒப்புக்கொடுப்பான். சேவகன உன்னைக் காவலிற்போடுவான்.

ருகூ நீ ஒரு காசாகிலுங்குறையாமற்செலுததுகிறவரைக் ம் அவ்விடத்திலிருந்து விடுதலையாக்கப்படமாட்டாயெ

CHAPTER XIII.

1 Christ preacheth repentance upon the punishment of the Galileans, and others. 6 The fruitless fig tree may not stand. 11 He healeth the crooked woman: 18 sheweth the powerful working of the word in the hearts of his chosen, by the parable of the grain of mustard seed, and of leaven: 24 exhorteth to enter in at the straight gate, 31 and reproveth Herod and Jerusalem.

THERE were present at that season some that told him of the Galileans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices.

2 And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galileans were sinners above all the Galileans, because they suffered such things?

3 I tell you, Nav: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

4 Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem?

5 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish;

6 He spake also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none.

7 Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground?

8 And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it:
