Page 272 - Still one thing more, fellow-citizens — a wise and frugal Government, which shall restrain men from injuring one another, shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned.
Page 74 - Labor is prior to, and independent of, capital. Capital is only the fruit of labor, and could never have existed if labor had not first existed. Labor is the superior of capital, and deserves much the higher consideration.

It increases unearned incomes at the expense of earned incomes. It is the center of the malevolent forces that corrupt the spirit and purpose of industry. We urge the organization and use of credit to serve production needs and not to increase the incomes and holdings of financiers.
Page 223 - Is not this the fast that I choose: To loose the bonds of wickedness, To undo the thongs of the yoke, To let the oppressed go free, And to break every yoke?
Page 206 - Party must, by the law of its being, remain for all time unchanged, its policy and its program will, we hope, undergo a perpetual development as knowledge grows and as new phases of the social problem present themselves in a continually finer adjustment of our measures to our ends. If law is the mother of freedom, science, to the Labor Party, must be the parent of law.
Page 22 - If he has no wife but one child living, $40, with $10 for each additional child up to two. (g) If he has a widowed mother dependent on him for support, then, in addition to the above amounts, $10. To an injured person who is totally disabled and in addition so helpless as to be in constant need of a nurse or attendant, such additional sum shall be paid, but not exceeding $20 per month, as the director may deem reasonable...
